Eoin Colfer, generally known for his Artemis Fowl series, is a writer of diverse subjects with a variety of books that will appeal to young adults everywhere.

Artemis Fowl is without a doubt Eoin Colfer’s golden boy. With book sales in the millions, Artemis Fowl has filled the minds of millions of children around the globe with images of flatulent dwarfs and fairies with mechanical wings.

However, Eoin Colfer is also the author of many other well-written books that have the same appeal and youth orientated themes as Artemis Fowl, but they do not seem to warrant the same attention as that spunky, self-centered genius, Artemis Fowl.

Airman

Eoin Colfer manages to draw the reader into the life of Conon Broekhart, a boy framed for the murder of his mentor and his king, and give them the feeling of knowing him personally and wishing they could right his injustices.

Conon is a force to be reckoned with and manages to escape from prison using a flying device he designed before his imprisonment. Conon begins to devise a plan that will prove his innocence and put the man responsible for the murder and his imprisonment into jail

Much like Artemis Fowl, Conon is a genius young man with a serious problem, unlike Artemis Fowl, there is not a fairy to be found.

The Supernaturalist

The Supernaturalist marks a period in the near future where the world is desperate for space, sun, and an unpolluted environment. Cities are managed by a satellite system that rotates buildings to be in specific sections for specific purposes and controls the highways. The satellite is failing and deaths occur everyday due to the dire situations.

Orphan, Cosmo Hill, abandoned by his parents at birth, is committed to an orphanage that uses its children to test products for the commercial sector and the government. Desperate to escape, Conon uses a chance accident to get away from his prison and meets a group of teens who are determined to rid the world of life sucking beings that only a few young people can see.

Filled with continuous action and suspense, Eoin Colfer’s the Supernaturalist provides the reader with a story of good versus evil and right versus wrong.

The Wishlist

Departing from his standard, Eoin Colfer brings to readers Meg Finn troubled teen with a serious problem. Meg has been murdered by her partner in crime and has done just enough good and just enough bad in life to put her right in the middle between heaven and hell.

God gives Meg an opportunity to set things right and sends her back to earth to help the last person that she has hurt, however she has to figure out how to do it as a ghost. Now, with a list from her last victim, Meg sets out to do some good in her life, so to speak. However, Satan wants a say in the matter and sets Meg up to fail, it is a race against the clock, and Meg does not have much time.

Eoin Colfer

Eoin Colfer has been writing for nearly a decade and has been a best seller in Ireland since his first book, Benny and Omar, was published in 1999. Since then he has written 15 books, however, none as popular as the Artemis Fowl series.
